THE Rudd Government has not corrected the policies of the Howard government towards tolerance and diversity, Liberal backbencher Petro Georgiou says. "(Its) approach to multiculturalism remains opaque," he said, citing Labor's support for a citizenship test.
The member for Kooyong, an internal critic of the Howard government, called on political leaders to restate a commitment to non-discrimination in immigration and to multiculturalism.Mr Georgiou also took a swipe at SBS Television, saying he was concerned about how its $180million annual budget was spent. -- CHRIS HAMMER
