IT'S been a significant couple of weeks for Melbourne writer Jon Bauer. First, he got confirmation of his Australian citizenship after living here for 11 years. Then, Rocks in the Belly was named best first novel of last year by independent booksellers. Yesterday, his book was longlisted for Australia's premier literary award, the Miles Franklin.
